Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born 26 March 1991 and professionally referred to under the surname Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. Her first single was released on the label on October 21st of 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she started to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music onto the internet in 2012 when she released her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to make music available on the web including her self issued single Bound. On July 21 2015 she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat it Out. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's remark. Later in the period, she released music that circulated throughout Dreamville.
